Transferring from Primary School

To help pupils and parents through the transition, there are a number of opportunities to learn about Reepham High School. The process has been carefully thought out to ensure that the transfer is as smooth and pleasant as possible.

From May 2018 – RHSC staff visit all primary feeder schools. This allows children the chance to hear and ask questions about the changes that moving to high school brings.  We do our best to reassure them about becoming a high school student.  This visit includes an introduction to 'E-buddies', an online mentoring scheme aimed at helping Year 6 pupils to gain confidence about their transition to KS3.

May/June 2018 - Senior staff visit primary schools in the evenings to meet the parents of Year 6 pupils and outline the main issues they need to be aware of.

Pupils from non-feeder schools - Mr Edgar visits all pupils, on an individual basis, who are joining the school.  Although time consuming we feel is it particularly important for these pupils to hear about the school and be reassured that they will find friends and settle in. A letter will be sent to the parents of these pupils inviting them to come and meet with Mr Edgar at the school.

Year 6 Induction Evening 2018: Tuesday 10th July 2018 - transferring pupils and their parents are invited to school to meet their child's form tutor for the first time.

Year 6 Induction Days 2018: Wednesday 11th July & Thursday 12th July 2018 - transferring pupils join us, meet their Form Tutor and future class mates. They follow a sample timetable which enables them to get the feel of life at RHSC.
